ICER VWG 1

Workshop on Energy Regulation & Security of Supply
9th June 2011
Florence School of Regulation - Florence, Italy

The Workshop is a key event in the development of the ICER VWG-1 on the Role of Energy Regulators in Guaranteeing Reliability and Security of Supply.

The ultimate objective of the activities planned in VWG-1 is to identify the potential influence that regulators can have on Security of Supply (SoS) through their actions in such key areas as: improving market integration and operation; reducing the risk of market failure; amplifying infrastructure capacity through investments; increasing reliability and efficiency of energy operations and supplies; technology development; reducing the reliance on wood fuels in countries where security of supply depends more on the availability of local fuels than on electricity, oil and gas.

ICER - IGU Workshop

In their aim to promote cooperation and understanding between the two organisations, the Members of the International Confederation of Energy Regulators (ICER) and the International Gas Union (IGU) are pleased to organise a second joint workshop on gas issues. This joint ICER-IGU one-day workshop held on 16 February 2012 in Brussels follows the first successful joint workshop that took place in Washington DC on 8 March 2011, where participants agreed on a series of conclusions as a result of the workshop.
